Description:
The theme chosen was "Saving the Three Vultures in China" as their topic for the year, which is a Chinese homophone for "Save the Third Uncle." In China, there are at least 8 species of vultures, but the efforts are focusing on three species: the Himalayan vulture, Eurasian Black vulture, and Bearded vulture. This is because the other five species of vultures in China are very rare and may already be regionally extinct. They plan to share the story of the Three Vultures with friends across China. On September 4th, they conducted a search activity for Tianshan vultures, ranging from an altitude of 700 meters to 3300 meters in Tianshan, to guide friends to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by vultures in China. They can introduce some actual situations through on-site photos. They will also introduce specific cases faced by the three types of vultures in China. For example, they will discuss habitat loss due to some major construction projects, food crisis caused by food chain disruption, abuse of veterinary drugs, intentional poisoning, electric shock and collision, use of ethnic medicinal materials (traditional Chinese medicine), and cultural bias, including views on sky burial. They will explain what International International Vulture Awareness Day (IVAD) is and provide some promotional materials that others can use to raise awareness. Finally, they will provide recommended references, hoping that everyone will read them thoroughly.

If you are planning to run activities to celebrate vultures this International Vulture Awareness Day, submit your details below to let other people know what you are doing.

Please note that it will take 1-2 working days for information to appear on the IVAD activities page. If you wish to make any changes to your listing, please re-submit your new details in the form below.
