Hawk Mountain loves to observe, study, and learn more about vulture species here and around the world. Celebrate these vital species and their conservation during the annual International Vulture Awareness Day! Meet our two native vulture species in PA and learn the species-specific characteristics that make these critters so essential and unique! From their anatomy to their behaviors, vultures are intelligent birds that are critical to our environment. The program at 2 PM will feature an engaging slideshow and include Red Creek Wildlife Center's two resident vultures. You will get to see the critters up close and learn more about vultures – nature’s flighted clean-up crew! There will also be a vulture discovery station set up at the Info Pavilion (next to the Native Habitat Garden) from 10am-3pm. Weekend Programs are free with trail fee, and the live vulture program is free to all. Youth activities and information table available.
