For IVAD 2026, we at Arulagam Nature Conservation Organisation have planned various events to spread awareness on vultures in partnership with our supporters, stakeholders in Tamil Nadu state to reach various target audiences. Event Dates - 5th September to 6th September 2026. Event description and activities planned are as below - 1.Human Chain in Vulture Formation – Government Arts College, Ooty, Nilgiris Biosphere Reserve, Tamil Nadu, India Date: 05 September 2026 Time: 9:30 AM to 11 A.M Organizing human chain vulture formation at Government Arts College, Ooty, involving students and volunteers from Arulagam and State Street. The activity aims to spread awareness about vulture conservation and engage youth through a creative public-awareness initiative. Target audience- Youth, Forest front line staff and volunteers 2 .Inauguration of Village Vulture Conservation Committee( VVCC) and Ethno-Veterinary Medicine Kit Distribution – Chokkanali, Mudumalai, Nilgiris Biosphere Reserve, Tamil Nadu, Date: 05 September 2026 Time: 4:00 PM to 5.30 P.M Inaugurating the Village Vulture Conservation Committee (VVCC) at Chokkanali and distributing ethno-veterinary medicine kits to livestock keepers. The programme will highlight traditional livestock healthcare practices and the importance of avoiding veterinary medicines that are toxic to vultures. Target audience- Livestock keepers 3. Livestock survey - Chokkanali, Mudumalai, Nilgiris Biosphere Reserve, Tamil Nadu, India In association with Aavin Milk Cooperative Society and State Street Volunteers Target audience- Livestock keepers 4.A day with vulture – Exposure visit to vulture foraging area- Thalamalai, Erode, Tamil Nadu, India Date: 06 September 2026 Time: 9:30 AM Organizing a vulture exposure visit for veterinary drug store owners from Thalavady to improve their understanding of vulture ecology and the impacts of harmful veterinary drugs. The visit will also encourage responsible veterinary medicine practices and support for vulture-safe zones. Target audience- Veterinary Drug Store Owners 5.Vulture Information Board Installation – Kodanad View Point, Kotagiri, Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu, India Installing a vulture information and awareness board at Kodanad View Point to educate visitors about different vulture species and NSAIDs. Target audience- Tourists and the general public
