Description:
The Sahara Conservation teams in Niger organized an awareness-raising session in front of the Sultanate of Zinder, invoving the main stakeholders of vulture conservation in Niger with whom we have been working since 2019: local leaders, hunters, traditional practitioners, water and forestry representatives, etc.
The location and attendance of the event meant to emphasize the essential role of traditional leaders in vulture conservation in Niger. By relaying messages and supporting our initiatives, local leaders make our conservation activities possible in the field, and help engage communities in protecting Niger's vultures.
We handed over several testimonials of satisfaction to the chiefs of the tradipractitioners and hunters, for the work they have been doing together for many years.
Over 200 people took part in the event!
